Living and loving in Michigan, Ruth had always looked forward to enjoying her life and everything it has to offer. It hasn’t always been easy, but Ruth makes the best of her colorful life…

Ruth J was adopted when she was 6 years old. She grew up in Dearborn, Michigan and graduated from Dearborn High school in 1954. She went to 1 year of college in Adrian, Michigan and got married when she was 19 years old and had 2 children, a boy, and a girl, and raised her family in Dearborn.

Ruth moved to Howell 25 years ago. In 2004 she found out she had a brain tumor and had surgery to remove it, that surgery left her unable to walk and needing therapy. After therapy, she was able to live on her own for 10 years. Still, in 2014, Ruth had some medical declines that brought her to MediLodge of Howell for more therapy.

Ruth wanted to tell everyone that the staff at MediLodge of Howell are excellent and helped her to regain her strength, so she was able to walk again. For other medical reasons, she decided that Medilodge would be where she stayed to live and made it her home. She goes on to express, “The Medilodge staff is very kind, and they showed me that I can still do many of the activities that I did while living on my own. I have made many new friends, I still knit, crochet and do lots of crafts which I love. All of the activity staff are very kind and helpful. They keep me active each and every day with several different activities. I am happy living at MediLodge of Howell.”
