Can you share a memorable experience from a job that you had?

It’s important to love your job. I had several jobs over the years. The job that I loved the most was when I was a janitor at a school. It was a private nursery school in Dearborn. Sometimes if the teacher had a conference or a meeting, they would ask me to stay and watch the kids for a while. One time a little girl about 5 years old came crying to me saying that another little boy had told her that there wasn’t a Santa Claus.

At first, I didn’t know what to say. I thought to myself: Do I tell her the truth? Or do I make her feel better?

What did you end up telling her?

Maybe the reason that little boy didn’t believe in Santa was because of religion or something similar to that. First, I sent the little boy away to do something else. Then, I started to console the little girl by smiling really big. Next, I told her that we were lucky because we knew the real secret. Santa was actually real.
